As a journalist, Mike specialises in consumer affairs, personal finance and business issues. For the past ten years he’s been freelance, working as reporter and presenter mainly for BBC programmes both domestic and international.

Radio work includes reporting for BBC news bulletins; also presenting and reporting for programmes like You and Yours, Today, Money Box and The Food Programme on Radio 4, and Five Live Money on Radio 5. Television shows include Breakfast on BBC1, World Business Report on BBC World television and World Service radio, and business coverage on News 24. He also contributes regular articles to BBC News Online sites.

Prior to this, Mike was features editor of BBC Good Food magazine, and news editor of Marketing magazine. He has also written news and features for the national press, including the Independent, the Times and the Guardian. His first work in journalism was as a reporter and editor within the specialist trade press.

Mike has also helped devise and conduct communications, interview, strategy and presentation training for a diverse range of companies and organisations - including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Jones Lang LaSalle, Gillette, Kraft Foods International, Hewlett-Packard, Deloitte, SmithKline Beecham, Esso, the Crown Estate and John Lewis.
